Upswing Farm a small vegetable farm in Pepperell, Massachusetts that offers a variety of CSA (community supported agriculture) farm shares. This certified organic farm is owned by Brittany and Kevin Overshiner and has been in business since 2016. Brittany’s goal is to increase accessibility to fresh, local food. Using LFM, Upswing is able to offer flexible sliding scale farm share payment options.

“It’s a really great feature to have a payment plan that I don’t have to manage. I really enjoyed last year just logging in to LFM once a month and processing all the cash. It makes cash flow steadier for me, and payments more accessible to the customer. Being able to stagger the payment plans for each share is great—and I spend so much less time invoicing.” -Brittany Overshiner, Upswing Farm

Located in Lucas, Texas, Profound Microfarms produces high quality, aquaponic and hydroponic lettuces, herbs, and microgreens. Farmer Jeff Bednar and his team work with LFM to provide sustainable greenhouse products to hundreds of restaurants and discerning chefs throughout the region of North Texas. In 2018, Jeff and other local farmers teamed up to form Profound Foods, a farmer-owned food hub providing North Texas Grown artisan produce, meats, and dairy to farm-to-table restaurants.

“We went from working with 25 restaurant customers to over 100 since implementing the software over a year ago. We were able to scale to do 4x as many customers as what we had thought. I wouldn’t have had time to do the marketing side without the 18 hours we save each week with LFM.”

Queen’s Greens farm is located on 35 acres in Western Massachusetts. They grow certified organic vegetables, focusing production on gourmet greens, sold solely through boutique wholesale outlets, restaurants, and institutions in New England and New York. In 2016 Queen’s Greens implemented LFM to streamline their administrative operations. Now in 2019, their farm is saving up to 16 hours per week in administrative work solely due to LFM software. In addition, Queen’s Greens uses LFM as a single producer, as well as a producer for another LFM customer, Three Rivers Farm Alliance.

“Our time is so valuable, and it can only be spread so thin. For me, to free up maybe 15 hours a week that I used to spend handling order stuff, that is really important. I can now put those 15 hours somewhere else. Investing in LFM is totally worth it! Even if we were doing half the amount of wholesale we are doing now, or even less, it would still be 100% worth investing in. I just think that the time LFM has saved is invaluable.”

Founded in 2006 on just one acre, Kitchen Garden Farm is now a 50-acre, certified organic vegetable farm located in the heart of the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts. Focusing on peppers and other fresh vegetables for their value-added Sriracha hot sauce products, Kitchen Garden Farm implemented LFM in 2014 due to the need for an easy to use, professional interface. As an individual producer, the farm utilizes LFM to save hours each week in administrative and communication tasks with their wholesale and restaurant customers.

“What I love is the integration between the orders coming in and populating invoices, and then with a click of a button generating my harvest list, my pack list, and my labels. That’s what saves me hours every week.”
